At the start of the race I was panicking, scared and anxious. I had only done 3 weeks of proper training and I had injured my back at work a week before the race. 5,4,3,2,1 and we was off I have never been able to run for more than a few minutes without stopping... after 1 Mile, 2 miles I was screaming to rob and so happy with myself we actually made it to 4.5 miles without walking. There was some hard times during the race where I just wanted to give up, but rob spurred me on and hearing rob talk about Theo to the other runners along the way, just made me run that little bit more. At mile 9 Kate and Elise were there to cheer us on. I got so emotional when I saw them and could of easily cried, somehow managed to power on and crossed the finished line in 2hr:36 if it wasn’t for Rob I would still be trying to cross the finish line now.
I’m so happy to of raised over £1000 for Tommy’s Baby Charity in Theo’s memory. I managed to find a new love for running, met some amazing inspiring people and remember a very precious little boy. So London Landmarks 2019 Im coming for you.
My training was very hit and miss for this half, i take my hat off to everyone that trains with family and work commitments. I decided to help steph with the race rather than push for a PB which in some ways meant i probably enjoyed the race more. It was an amazing atmosphere and the crowds and entertainment that was by the side of the roads really made it a great day. cannot wait to return with a bigger run crew in 2019 . I raised just over £1500 for the hospital that will go into the paris pot
